German Security Police and SD
German Security Police and SD units in Tallinn formed part of the occupation regime’s system of surveillance and repression.
During the German occupation, Security Police and SD units operated in Tallinn, carrying out surveillance, detention and repression. Administrative language and office rooms concealed violence against real people and families. A map point near Pagari Street does not by itself prove that a specific unit worked in a particular building. Exact addresses, chains of command and dates need archival documentation to avoid conflating institutions from different occupations.
Practical information
Address: Pagari tänava piirkond
Treat the Pagari Street area as a broad historical marker. Do not assign an individual building or incident to a unit without a source.
