Danish King’s Garden
Three hooded monks watch over Danish King’s Garden, surrounded by a modern layer of Tallinn ghost folklore.
Set between Toompea and the Lower Town, the garden takes its name from the legend of the Danish flag descending from heaven. Its strongest atmosphere today comes from three hooded monk sculptures: Ambrosius, Bartholomew and Claudius. They are contemporary artworks rather than medieval spirits, yet darkness, old walls and frozen robes have inspired stories of glowing faces and figures keeping watch at night.
