Military Ruins of Paljassaare
Military ruins on Paljassaare recall a time when the peninsula’s sea views formed part of Tallinn’s defences.
Paljassaare’s position beside the bay made it useful for watching the coast and placing defensive works. Concrete, earthworks and building traces from different periods now sit among vegetation that gradually obscures old boundaries. Appearance alone cannot establish the date or function of each ruin; military maps help distinguish them. The peninsula is also a valuable natural landscape today. Public paths offer enough of a view without entering unstable old structures.
