Kopli Lines
The Kopli Lines were a home to working families; later decay does not erase the everyday lives lived there.
Rows of timber housing near the shipyards accommodated Kopli’s industrial workers and their families. Changes through the Soviet period and later decades brought wear, abandonment and demolition; the district’s reputation could overshadow its residents. Today’s renewal may in turn smooth away traces of earlier lives. The history of the Lines belongs to the people who worked, raised families and remembered homes here, as much as to lost buildings and fires.
