Rounds of the Old Town Night Watch
The Old Town night watch was linked to closed gates, the risk of fire and order in the streets.
Once town gates were shut for the night, movement through the Old Town differed from daytime life. Watchmen had to notice fire, disturbances and unusual activity, and warn others when needed. Their work shows that a wall did not protect a town by itself: order also depended on people walking its streets after dark. A general map point cannot reconstruct one watchman’s exact historic route or call; both changed with time and local rules.

Walk through the Old Town and observe former gate sites. A specific night-watch route needs a historical source.
