Monastery Passages on Vene Street
Passages at the Dominican monastery connected different rooms, though surviving sections cannot reveal the entire original plan.
The Dominican complex on Vene Street was a working community of rooms and courtyards. Routes linked prayer, labour and daily activities. Over the centuries, buildings were altered and some connections disappeared, so the original layout cannot be reconstructed from present appearances alone. Surviving stone still helps visitors imagine the internal rhythm of the monastery: a quiet place of prayer did not exist apart from the work that sustained it.
