Old Admiralty Harbour
Traces of the old Admiralty harbour lie beneath the streets and buildings around modern Ahtri Street.
The Admiralty district has been repeatedly reshaped: the shoreline, harbour basins, workshops and routes have all changed. This was once a working waterfront of ships, cargo, people and official oversight. The present-day road network makes that layout difficult to imagine. A historical map can show how the sea and working spaces were absorbed by the growing city. Smuggling belongs to broader port-town history, but any specific case requires its own evidence.
