Ignatjev’s Sauna
Ignatyev’s bathhouse appears in tales of Tallinn nightlife, but an alleged brothel link should not be treated as established.
Ignatyev’s bathhouse, associated with the Lennuki Street area, is sometimes mentioned alongside the history of paid sex. A bathhouse was also a service in its own right: rooms for washing do not prove other activities. A claim connecting this establishment to a brothel needs to be traced to a record, a recollection or a later tale. Making that distinction protects the history of the place and the people who worked there from easy assumptions.
Practical information
Address: Lennuki tänava piirkond
Treat the Lennuki Street area as an approximate historical location; the original bathhouse or interiors may not survive.
