The Monocled Man on the Roof
A rooftop figure with a monocle on Pikk Street has inspired a tale about watching women across the road.
Look up at Pikk 23 and you will find a figure with a monocle near the roofline. A local story claims he was peering at women in the house opposite. The anecdote is memorable, but it should not be mistaken for a verified account of why the sculpture was made. This small architectural detail shows how a street can acquire another life in urban folklore.
