Three Brothers

The Three Brothers preserve a row of merchant houses on Lai Street where household and business shared space.

Three historic houses stand together at Lai 38–40. In such merchant buildings, living quarters, work and stored goods existed in close proximity. The street facade presented the owner to the town, while activity in courtyards and upper floors was less visible to passersby. Look at the roofline and differences between the houses: their shared name does not mean that they followed identical paths through the centuries.
