Small Coastal Gate
The Lesser Coastal Gate was a less familiar link between harbour and walled town, lost as the defensive system changed.
Not everyone moving between the harbour and town used the Great Coastal Gate. A smaller passage near Laboratooriumi Street served local movement and practical needs along the wall. Changes to the fortifications and new traffic routes made it unnecessary. The lost gate reminds us that the city wall was not an unbroken stone barrier but a system of controlled openings with different functions.
