The Murder of Sophia
A murder story attached to the name Sophia needs an archival source before a particular incident or location can be stated.
Stories of murder in old Tallinn can survive in fragments: one account supplies a name, another a place and a third adds a later interpretation. The available description of Sophia does not establish a particular event or address. That uncertainty is itself worth presenting honestly. Writing about murder calls for separating a real person, date and circumstances from urban legend; unverified details should not be turned into someone’s life story.
